On behalf of Lakewood Elementary and Pinellas County Schools, I am reaching out to invite your organization to become a Partner in the Lunch Pals mentoring program. By joining us, you can make a significant impact in the lives of children, helping them thrive academically and personally.
During my 40 years at Raymond James, I had the opportunity to co-found Lunch Pals with Pinellas County Schools. Now that I have a bit more time, I have volunteered to help grow Lunch Pals at Lakewood. I am also a Lunch Pals mentor there.
Providing a meaningful and fulfilling experience for your employees can lead to increased productivity and long-term retention. Many people today seek opportunities to give back, and participants have overwhelmingly positive responses to being involved. Mentoring allows your staff to develop valuable skills like communication, leadership, and empathy, which can be applied to their professional development. It also fosters a sense of teamwork, leading to a more cohesive and supportive work environment.
Engaging in mentorship programs demonstrates your organization’s commitment to our community, enhancing your corporate reputation. The best part is that it requires little effort and no cost from your side – just promote the program, and we will do the rest. Surveys from students, teachers, parents, and principals involved report very positive impacts. Imagine the economic impact if every child reached their full potential.
Lakewood Elementary serves a predominantly Black student population of about 480 students, with many students living in great poverty, and many of whom face other significant challenges in their lives. As a result, a great may of students would benefit from having a mentor – a Lunch Pal. But currently, we only have one. Your partnership can help bridge this gap and provide much-needed support to these children.
Won’t you join with us to help the kids who needs us most at Lakewood? We will provide an email you can distribute to your staff. Those interested can attend one of the many community workshops (in person or virtual) or a specific workshop for your staff.
