Ron Diner is founder and publisher of Home Runs Matter, a civic platform focused on ideas, leadership, redevelopment, and the decisions shaping the future of St. Petersburg. Ron Diner is a St. Petersburg resident who recently led a citizen coalition advocating improvements to the proposed redevelopment of the Historic Gas Plant District between the City of St. Petersburg, the Tampa Bay Rays, and developer Hines. Previously, Ron served as Founder and President of Raymond James Affordable Housing, the leading provider of equity for the development of affordable housing nationwide. He is also co-founder of Lunch Pals, the Pinellas County Schools lunchtime mentoring program. Under his leadership, the program grew to nearly 2,000 students with weekly mentors, becoming the largest school-based mentoring program in the country. For more than a decade, Ron served as a mentor and mentor manager with the Lunch Pals program, mentoring students at Mount Vernon Elementary, Lakewood Elementary, and Bay Point Middle School. Home Runs Matter was previously published as No Home Run. Ron is a proud father and grandfather and an avid cyclist.
